A ‘schwa’ is a vowel sound in an unstressed syllable. Schwa is also a network of talented people stemming from different backgrounds, cultures and disciplines.
Our mission is to create a space for sharing knowledge, movement and art. Connect local and foreign communities in our increasingly diverse area and beyond.
Our activities include:
- The promotion of culture and the arts, with special emphasis on the exchange of ideas knowledge and experiences between Portuguese citizens and the foreign population.
- Cultural exchanges under the form of independent knowledge production and creation from local to global sources, with the goal of cross-cultural understanding.
- The organization of events, workshops, happenings, exhibitions, conferences, trainings, lectures, collaborative activities, cultural and social events.
- Communicating and publishing the knowledge that comes out of these events and its underlying sharing materials.
- Producing ongoing and one time cultural programs.
- Fundraising activities from individuals and other organizations in EU and beyond.
